i have Juvenile Rheumatory Arthritis.
and im 14. i had posted something like this before and only received 2 answers. which, both were really not that helpful. =/ i am going to the doctor soon, but for right now, what can i do???? cause it hurts like crazy! i heard something a while ago that if you put a bar of soap on it then that can help too. OH, by the way, i have it in both of my knees since i was about 2. so can somebody tell me of a treatment that can help me tonight? Thank you guys so much! i just went out to the store with my mom and we bought some ibuprofen for the pain and we bought some white rice. its on my right knee right now. and its weird, cause most of the time its my left knee thats bothering me, but tonight its my right one. idk. but thank you guys so much! and i really cant pick a best answer because they all were great. thanks! <33 |

Hey there, I’m 19 and also have JRA, I think that you should be aware if you are on other medications for your arthritis do not take Advil. Advil has a history of affecting the potency of your medications, extra strength Tylenol is the best way to go. Try swimming or doing water aerobics they have really helped me out in the past for both the pain and preventing future flair ups. I have practically lived in ICU for a two years and found meditation can leave you pain free. It takes a while to master so don‘t get discouraged if you unable get it at first, yoga or tai chi will help if you are interested in trying. The quickest way I have found if you do not know how to meditate is taking an extra strength Tylenol (check or ask your pharmacist for the right dosage) elevate the swollen joint on a pillow and leaving ice or a compress on for 10 minuets at a time.
Good luck and don’t stop fighting back =) |
