most breasts have a normal "lumpy" feel on palpation.
some have an excess of this tissue and it is called fibrocystic breasts, typically not a worry. it also tends to increase when your period is due.
when you can palpate a hard mass, think marble, then you need to be seen and be worried. also discharge from nipples would be alarming.
in either case, it will ease your mind to have a doc check your breasts.
cancer is not ringing a bell in the above description, but as always, see your doc to rule anything out.
Good luck and take care

Lumps in the breasts is one of the main signs of breast cancer. When i was younger i was always told that after each period, feel them to make sure there were no abnormalities or lumps. See a doctor about this as soon as possible, it would be dangerous to take the risk of not telling anyone.

The small painful lumps are one of symptoms of breast cancer. But you will be sure when you visit your doctor. Good luck!!!
