Does the chocolate have sugar? or is it diet?
Does the same thing happen when you drink UNsweetened regular coffee or black tea? I ask because caffeine & its equivalent (in chocolate) has been found to cause Serious Reactions in some people. The following article is written by one such person: <CAFFEINE ALLERGY: Past Disorder or Present Epidemic?, by Ruth Whalen, Medical Laboratory Technician> (Put in the URL box, ^that^ will take you to the article.) Some info on Diabetes for comparison: Living With Diabetes : - "The Silent Killer" - The Challenge of Treatment - A Disease of the young? - The Role of Glucose, the Pancreas, and Sugar - Diabetes Simplified - How the Bible Can Help Diabetes Sufferers http://watchtower.org/e/20030508/article_01.htm |

Some people are just sensitive to the biochemicals in chocolate.
Do you also get rashes, hives, or have trouble breathing (signs of an allergic reaction)? If so, avoid it and contact your doctor for allergy testing and follow up. Chocolate has been known to trigger migraines in some people. That said, you may also be experiencing reactive hypoglycemia, or a drop in blood sugar after eating sugary foods. If this happens with other sweet foods, you will need to stick to a low sugar diet. Avoid all simple and processed sugars, while eating lots of fibre, good fats, and lean protein. This in and of itself is not indicative of diabetes. That said, sometimes reactive hypoglycemia is a precursor to diabetes (usually Type 2). If you need to lose weight, do so. |

It can be a symptom of diabetes. It could mean your pancreas isn't working properly. it may be the caffiene in the chocolate though. I had to go to the doc for similar symptoms recently. They ran a few different tests, because it could be several things causing it.
