...numerous remedies.? Im a bit concerned as I seem to get it a lot. Is indigestion and heartburn the same thing? I know certain foods set me off like onions and spicy food and sometimesa Vodka. Any ideas why I suffer so bad and what I could use? Ive even tried some medicine from the doctor.

You could have an ulcer or hyperacidity. Do antacids calm it at all?
I would suggest trying the following in this order: Drink milk. If that calms it then it is just very mild heartburn. Take antacid tablets. These will calm the majority of heartburn. If the heartburn persists, try ranitidine. This reduces the amount of acid produced and has a longer lasting effect than antacid. If the heartburn is still frequent go see a doctor and ask for omeprozole. You should also request an endoscopy to have your stomach checked out prolonged heartburn can lead to Barrats Esophagus which can, in turn, develop into throat cancer. |
