Avoid aggravating foods
Frequent small meals thruout the day, no eating 4 hrs before bedtime
Elevate head of bead 30-40 degrees
Avoid caffeine, alcohol, aspirin, motrin and tight or constricting abdominal garments.
Supplement your omeprazole with otc antacids (maalox or mylanta) and take your omeprazole one hour before breakfast for max effect.
Your doctor may consider increasing the dose, adding a histamine blocker like tagamet or ranitidine or trying a different PPI rather than omeprazole--of which there are several. If you continue with intractable symptoms consult a gastroenterologist for further suggestions and possible endoscopy.

Your stomach is not digesting the food. Therefor, the stomach acids that digest the food is now backing up towards your food pipe and giving you that burning sensation. You need to stop eating solids for a few days and drink lots of liquids, until your stomach starts to digest again. You will be able to tell when your stomach starts to rumble and growl, then you can eat solids again.

Good luck.
