Default Is this enough calories for one day.?

Ok so I am a little chubby and I decided to go on a diet. I started on Monday. What I decided to do is eat less than 2000 calories because I thought it would be hard to go any lower but now that I see its not ive been eating more like 1000 calories a day (yesterday I ate 855). My mother thinks thats not enough food to survive but I think its plenty. I dont feel hungry, and although im not eating like a used to (which is whenever I felt hungry) im still eating with the rest of my family, and im not throwing up, so dont ask. She thinks im "getting anorexic on her," but I keep telling her im not, im just eating less.
Example: Today I had two egg whites with fat free processed cheese and yogurt. Nothing for lunch and a salad for dinner with a little but of bleu cheese and just oil and vinegar. I might eat some soup later if I get hungry.

All you have to do to lose weight is burn more calories than you take in. so if you take in 6000 calories, as long as you burn more than 6000, you will lose weight.

It depends they say go buy your current weight and height. Some need 1200 some need about 1500 but your not supposed to go over 2000 in a day. And it depends where the calories come from.

its not enough. Dont change the quantity of your food but the quality. whenever you're hungry just grab a fruit. always have fruits with you. also, eat more times/day but less each time.
