Default Antidepressant Medication - Lexapro and Xanax?

I have started to have some really bad depression and anxiety, and for about the past 9 months have not been able to get a solid full nights sleep. My doctor just prescribed me 10mg of Lexapro to take during the day and .5 mg of Xanax to take at night to suposedly help me sleep... I have been on these for a week now and it is just making the sleep worse... Has anyone been prescribed Xanax to help them sleep, or is this insomnia side affects from the Lexapro... HELP HELP HELP... I just want to get a full nights sleep, I would do ANYTHING for just one full nights sleep.

i dont agree with mind altering medications. if ur body is telling you not to take it DONT TAKE IT. discuss it with ur doctor. if he doesnt listen to you, get another dr that will
best of luck to you

Default Mirtazapine orally disintergrating tablets. 15 mg.

I have used xanax and lexapro.Lexapro plus the mirtazapine helps me get a good nights rest.I had trouble falling asleep because my mind was running 90 miles per hour. The mirtazapine helped calm me down so I could go to sleep.

You could consider trying melatonin over the counter (just make sure you get a high quality name) and try between 1 and 3mg before you go to bed. One thing about meds like Lexapro, they deplete your body of melatonin, and that is needed for restful REM sleep. If you try 1mg and it doesn't work, go to 2mg the next night. Most people get a benefit from around 3mg. Safer to use too.

Default Lexapro Side Effects

Restlessness is one of the side effect of Lexapro. Check out the side effects at Buy Generic Lexapro 10 and 20mg Online - Dosages and Side Effects

I have also heard about herbal tea for sleep. Seems to be good.
