A volunteer patient, Philippe Sanchot, had a benign tumour removed successfully by French surgeons in a plane, a modified Airbus A300 called 'Zero-G', that made a series of swoops during a three-hour flight to create a near zero-gravity environment for periods of twenty-two seconds.
