Purpose
The purpose of this study is to compare Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) for Adolescent Drug Abusers to treatment as usual (TAU).

Eligibility
Ages Eligible for Study: 12 Years - 17 Years, Genders Eligible for Study: Both
Criteria
- Must live with or intend to live with a formal or informal family
- Must have used any illicit drugs (other than alcohol and tobacco) in the 30-day period that preceded the baseline assessment.
- Adolescents will be excluded if they meet criteria for opiate abuse or dependence, and use opiates more than 2 times per week at the time of the baseline assessment.
