If your doctor suspects that you have an inherited component to your high cholesterol and triglyceride levels or if you have xanthomas (yellowish lesions) on your skin; also used if you have progressive symptoms of dementia and your doctor wants to confirm or exclude a diagnosis of probable Alzheimer’s Disease
