Ovide and the Gang was an 1980s animated TV show. Ovide, a Platypus and his friends Saphron, Polo, Groaner and others, live on a tropical island that is always surprising them with new areas they have never seen. Between the mad marshes and the Venetian Jetty, the Virgin Forest and the mysterious caverns, there's no shortage of adventures for Ovide and the gang. Cy is a mean snake who lives elsewhere on the island, and he is always trying to get rid of Ovide so he can take over the island. Of course, he always fails. The island does have one good thing though, it has television. TVs pop up all over the place, and everyone stops what they are doing and watches the tube. Ovide, thanks to his portable TV recorder, which lets him rerun previous events, is usually able to block the treacherous manoeuvres of Cy. This show created by animator Godi and the Canadian animation studio CinéGroupe.

Ovide and the Gang ran from 1987 to 1988 and also goes by the names "Ovide Video" and "Ovide's Video Show".
