A Phase IV, multicenter study of hospitalized patients with complicated intra-abdominal infection.

Ages Eligible for Study:  18 Years and above,  Genders Eligible for Study:  Both

Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

• Written informed consent.
• Hospitalized patients greater than or equal to 18 years of age.
• Must have signs and symptoms of complicated intra-abdominal infection
• Must have surgery +/- 24hrs of first dose of test article.
• Life expectancy of greater than 30 days.

Exclusion Criteria

• Patients with necrotizing pancreatitis.
• Known or suspected allergy to penicillins or beta-lactamase inhibitors.
• Pregnant or lactating females.
• Patients with severe underlying medical problems.
